I include an image of the site for your reference.
There may exist a potential for a water and debris discharge if the portal seal /backfill fails. This would potentially
impact property and /or people below the location. The portal is located above the Kokopelli Farm Market, and the
adjacent 1 -70 on /off ramps.
Snowcap Coal Co., Inc. has engaged a geotechnical expert, and we expect word from their expert sometime
tonight or tomorrow.
We cannot quantify the risk of a discharge at this time, but thought it best to inform you of the situation
Thank you again,
David Berry
Director, Coal Mine Regulatory Program
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
303 - 866 -3567 x 8106
South Portal.jpg
361 K
https://mail.google.com/mail/tdO/?ui=2&ik=b46bel l b9e&view =pt &search =i nbox &th= 146b1375cea08d76&si m l= 146b1375cea08d76 1/1
