Trapper Mine
Records of Blasting
Page 3
October 21, 2014
the distance from the airblast monitoring unit to the blast will need to be included on the
blasting summary log.
Rule 4.08.5 states a record of each blast, including seismograph reports, shall be retained for at least 3
years and shall be available for inspection by the Division and by the public on request. There appears to
be a delay between when the blast occurs to when the blasting summary log is completed with all the
required information. The Division understands there is a processing delay but believe a good practice
would be to have the blasting summary log completed with all of the required information within a week
of the blast. The Division appreciates the assistance Trapper's staff has provided in understanding their
blasting program. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at (303) 866 -3567, extension 8120.
Sincerely,
Jared Ebert
Environmental Protection Specialist
