Known Cultural Resources
In the project area:No cultural resources have been recorded in Droject section.
In the general region(summarize): Cultural resources from all the Prehistoric Periods
Paleoindian thru Late Prehistoric as well as historic ranching/homesteading-related
Euroamerican resources have been recorded in N. Park reviousl .
26. Expected Results: Some potential was expected for prehistoric lithic artifacts/sites if areas of
extensive surface gravel deposits occurred although no such deposites were noted
VI. STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES
27. Objective was compliance w/NHPA 1966 to be accomplished by locating recording evaluating
for NRHP eligibility,& submitting management recommendations for all NRHP significant
cultural resources within the project APE
VII. Also a number of prominent badger burrow mounds
within the surveyed area were examined more closely.
VIII.RESULTS: No significant cultural resources were observed within the areas surveyed.
MacFarlane Ditch is located about 50 ft. outside the north project boundary, which will be fenced. Thus
this ditch will not be impacted by the project.
30. List IFs if applicable: None
31. Using your professional knowledge of the region, why are there none or very limited cultural
remains in the project area? Is there subsurface potential?Absence of lithic artifacts presumably related
to absence of surface gravels. Surveyed area also lacks significant viewshed No surface indications of
above-average potential for subsurface cultural resources
