cotter
Via Email and U.S. Mail
RECEIVED
October 6, 2014
Mr. Tom Kaldenbach `CT 09 7014
,✓ Division of Reclamation, Mining& Safety DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 MINING AND SAFETY
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Schwartzwalder Mine, Permit No. M-107-300
-Water Quality Data and Mine Level Measurements for June 2014
Dear Mr. Kaldenbach:
With respect to the Schwartzwalder Mine site, enclosed please find monthly water quality
monitoring results for the month of June 2014. This submittal represents continuation of
routine monthly reporting of water quality monitoring results, and includes data from the new
groundwater monitoring wells. There was not enough water in monitor well 16 to collect a
sample.
Due to malfunctioning mine pool depth probes, this submittal does not include daily mine
water level measurements for the month of June 2014. Data from both mine pool depth probes
installed by Cotter show that neither probe is responding to fluctuations in the depth of the
mine pool as shown by physical measurements on April 4, May 2, July 18 and September 18,
2014. Alexco Corporation installed a depth probe as part of its mine water treatment system,
but technical difficulties have frustrated data retrieval. Cotter is in the process of ordering and
installing a new depth sensor. The elevation of the mine pool on September 18 was 6585.0 feet
above sea level.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 719-275-7413 (ext. 202).
Sincerely,
M1
hn S.
