NA
(b)Adequate maintenance? NA
Remarks:
I visited Mr. Wild's site with Adam LaSalle, USFS Forestry Tech, and documented approximately 0.4 acres of
disturbance. Mr. Wild currently has 5 open dig sites/disturbed areas measuring approximately 40'x 60', 50'x
70', 50'x 90', 15'x20', 60'x80', respectively, and uses an existing two-track measuring 325' long by 8' wide.
He is currently bonded with the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety for$5,072.00, and is
authorized up to 8 (40' x 40')pits and 3 (20' x 60') trenches. Mr. Wild currently has a PoO, which was
authorized by the USFS in 2013. Mr. Wild has safety fencing up around 3 of his 5 excavations. Mr. Wild
needs to maintain the fencing and warning signs around his excavations, especially before he leaves the site for
extended periods of time. The site is generally clean and free of debris; however, a backhoe was parked on site.
Recommendations:
Mr. Wild is within the scope of his current operations; however, he is quickly approaching the upper limit of
authorized disturbance(0.5 acres). Mr. Wild would be wise to reclaim some of his excavations, if he wants to
stay below the 0.5 acre disturbance limit, as required by DRMS. Mr. Wild also needs to maintain the safety
fencing around his excavations, especially if he will be leaving the site for extended periods of time. Continue
to monitor the site.
