Dear Mr. Cunningham,
I apologize for the slow response, I was out of town for the week. The following are the responses to
your questions concerning our NOI application.
1. See attached.
2. The main abandon prospect is the southern most part of the trench. It is around 300 square feet
and measures roughly 60 feet long and 50 feet wide including the tailings. The tailings were
neatly stockpiled, making reclamation easier. The second is much smaller. It's a circular pit
roughly 10 feet across and 6 -8 feet deep. Reclamation work on both disturbances will be done
using the same methods and standards as any disturbance.
3. Re- opening the road will take minimal work and have little impact. The road is currently in good
shape and only closed using a series of a few, small, manmade berms. All that will be needed to
make the road useable is removal of those berms along with some minor grading. Before
removing the berms they will all be marked, measured and photographed before stockpiled in
one location on flat ground. Upon completion of the project the berms will be reconstructed to
the same size, in the same locations currently existing. During the project we will maintain the
road so that it will not alter or prevent the existing path of water run off.
4. The 10,000 yards included the dirt already removed from existing prospects. Only between
5000 -6500 yards of virgin ground will disturbed.
5. A
6. The trench will be dug through the winter, with the oldest 20 yards being backfilled each time
the trench reaches 25 yards in length minimizing erosion and safety concerns. In addition it will
be fenced 270 degrees with a 4 foot high camo netting to keep out animals and reduce visibility
from the road.
7. We don't anticipate having to remove any trees during this phase. If the need arises, It will be
chopped into firewood size blocks, placed in a passenger truck and hauled of site.
8. 1 apologize for the way that was worded. There is no true topsoil but the surface horizon will be
treated as topsoil and handled accordingly.
9. We are fully willing to use mulch wherever need. If preferred, we would be willing to truck in a
few loads of topsoil to ensure quality reclamation. We plan to leave the area in dramatically
better shape than it is currently.
10. All stockpiles except the one created from the reopening of the road will be temporary.
11. We failed to account for the areas that will contain the topsoil and waste rock originally. After
including those the area is now roughly 1.5 acers. A additional bond is included with this paper.
12. A plan of operations has been filed with the South Park Ranger District and a copy has been
included.
We apologize for the mistakes and greatly appreciate your help in correcting them. If any
additional information is required or changes are needed, please let us know and we will be
happy to accommodate.
