A copy of that report is attached.
Braun did perform testing on Mineral Hill materials last summer and produced a report for the client. The report
held no surprises in the reported amounts of sulfur,or of the buffering capacity of the country rock. When you read
the report, don't forget the definition of"grade"and the important difference between it and"concentration".
With your working experience in Cripple Creek, I thought you would know as well as anyone that the majority of the
rock in Cripple Creek is not grossly acid generating with one exception. This work has already been done by
Anglo's consultants including Golder, and any geologist should be able to quickly determine that their assessment is
correct based on a simple understanding of mineralogy. As was the case with the recent Murphy permit,I fear that
lack of knowledge on this issue simply adds another cost to an already stressed industry, requiring it to spend more
money to prove the obvious.
I do have one concern over the time extension you granted yourself for completion of the permit. Teller County and I
had worked to set up a schedule and I had assumed that you also would also keep yours. If you don't get through
your review fairly quickly,we will need to start over with the County. This can be done, but the procrastination by
DRMS is going to affect others.
Give me a call if you have questions. I would still prefer getting though the more elementary questions on the phone
so we can save expense for both the State and my client.
Sincerely,
BRAUN ENVIRONMENTAL, INC.
ee5;'e,OA
C.A.
