be up to 1 to 1 (V: H)with downhill slopes to be as steep as 1 to 1.5 (V: H)slope. See below for more
details.
Comment 9—Closure of waste rock dumps
Response: The landowner wishes to retain the level area around the adit for agricultural purposes, thus
it will be the intent at the time of reclamation to keep as much of that surface as possible. The uphill cut
in the adit area has been determined to be stable, is anticipated to remain stable, and similar slopes in
the general area readily support natural steep faces. Thus, per the property owner's preference, the
uphill slope will be cleaned of loose rock, and left as much as possible in its current state with slopes of
up to 1 to 1 (V:H). Also, per the landowner's wishes to maximize level areas, the downhill slope will be
graded to an average of 1 to 1.5 (V: H)slope. A thin cover of growth media will be installed, and the
media planted with approved grasses. A recent inspection of the permit area revealed that grasses will
readily grow in these soils on these slopes.
Comment 10—Reclamation Cost Estimate
Response: I request a copy of the detailed preliminary bond estimate sheets.
Comment 11—Five mapped pits in Closure of waste rock dumps
Response: These pits are shown per standard mapping practice. They are all old features that date back
to well before the current permit. These features pose no danger to the public or wildlife and will be
left as they were found. Choosing to mobilize equipment to these areas to erase them would create a
significant additional amount of unnecessary disturbance, which would require an increased bond
amount.
Exhibit F—List of other Permits and Licenses Required—All parts deemed adequate
Response: No response necessary.
S
