EXHIBIT D
MINING PLAN
Tri-River recently transferred the existing 110(c) permit for the Yust Ranch Gravel Pit to
Grand Gravel Pit, LLC. Grand Gravel Pit, LLC would like to expand the existing operational
footprint to 46.41 acres from 9.9 acres and is therefore requesting a 112 permit. Grand
Gravel intends to operate the site continuously.
The removal of gravel deposits from the permitted area will begin at the west side of the
existing pit face (permitted by the I I0(c)) moving west and north at a depth of 15-20 feet.
The excavation and removal of this material will require a front-end loader and possibly a
conveyor. The phasing will be market driven and will progress from east to west as shown in
Exhibit C. We anticipate mining and/or processing up to 100,000 tons per year with the life
of the reserve estimated at approximately 20-25 years.
Equipment required for this operation will include:
• Crushers • Stackers
• Screens • Loaders
• Feeders • Bulldozers
• Conveyors
Mining plan will be a 6 phase mining approach (Exhibit C) due to the addition of the amended
acreage (5.41 acres).
Mining operations will not encounter groundwater as it will stay at or above the level of the
adjacent pit. The majority of the existing haul road will be utilized for travel to, through and
from the pit. One portion of the road wilt be mined and the alternate route is as proposed on
the Mining Map in Exhibit C. Division of Water Resources confirmed with response letter
dated 2/19/14 that the proposed operation does not anticipate exposing groundwater.
Topsoil will be stripped at an average depth of approximately 4-6" and stockpiled on the
northwest side of the permit area for reclamation. The stockpiles will be seeded to prevent
erosion as described in the soil conservation report.
Stormwater will be contained within the pit area using the backsloping grade directed at the
back wall.
No incidental products will be mined or extracted by the proposed operation.
No explosives will be used in conduction with the mining or reclamation.
Should human remains be discovered during mining activities, the requirements under state
law apply and will be followed.
