9/17/2014 State.co.us Executive Branch Mail - Southfield - response to sediment analysis for loadout ponds
obSTATE OF
COLORADO
Southfield - response to sediment analysis for loadout ponds
Zuber - DNR, Rob <rob.zuber @state.co.us> Tue, Sep 16, 2014 at 3:16 PM
To: George Patterson <efcoal @gmail.com >, Mary Rodriguez - DNR <mary.rodriguez @state.co.us >, Alysha
Hernandez - DNR <alysha.hernandez @state.co.us>
George -
I just looked at the sediment analysis for the loadout ponds, and I have the following questions and comments.
Why does the analysis say that it is part of the Phase 2 bond release? I understand that you may use this same
analysis for that application, but it is confusing to have that in the heading. This is a separate (albeit related)
issue.
Why is there only one analysis when you have two ponds? Please explain why this makes sense to combine the
two analyses into one.
I need more information on where on the maps you measured length and slope to calculate the LS factor.
Can you elaborate on how you obtained the cover percentage (for C factors) from the IME studies?
Thank you,
Rob
Rob Zuber, P.E.
Environmental Protection Specialist II
Coat Regulatory Program
COLORADO
Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
P 303.866.3567, extension 8113 1 F 303.832.8106
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203
rob.zuberCstate.co.us I http: / /mining. state. co. us
https: / /mail.google.com /mail /u /0 / ?ui= 2 &ik= e29129fcb5& view =pt& search = inbox& th= l4880533b744aa35 &siml= 14880533b744aa35 1/1
