Main St. <br />Lamar, CO. 81052 <br />Attn: Mary root, Prowers County Land Use <br />From: Hans Friederichs <br />1251 CR LL <br />Wiley, CO. 81092 <br />Re: Special Use application, Letter of Request <br />Members of the Board, <br />The information contained in this correspondence accompanies my application for as Special Use Permit <br />on a portion of land located on my property in Prowers County. <br />Date of application: August 12, 2014 <br />Owner: Hans and JoLeyne White- Heckman Friederichs <br />Site Location: 1251 County Road LL, Wiley, CO 81092 <br />The approximately Y section property is located Y2 mile west of Hwy 287 on the <br />north side of road LL. <br />Present Zoning: Agricultural <br />Reason for request: This non - irrigated property contains sub - surface sand /gravel and an application <br />to convert the existing 110 mining operation to a 112 mining operation has <br />been submitted to the State of Colorado. <br />General project concepts: The Owner proposes to contract with Riverside Aggregates, LLC in Lamar, CO <br />for the purpose of excavating mining sand and gravel from approximately 19 <br />acres MA of undeveloped, non - irrigated pasture land. The proposed site <br />includes an abandoned pit that would be included in the reclamation for land <br />leveling and re- planting as required. There are no intended or atypical <br />impacts on county services or adjoining property. <br />Existing and proposed <br />Facilities, structures and <br />Roads: The proposed site is approximately Yz mile west of Hwy. 287. Prowers County <br />Road LL is approximately 200 yards south of the proposed site. An un -named <br />existing utility /access road is located on the eastern boundary of the proposed <br />site and intersects with County Road LL. This intersection would be the main, <br />and only, entrance to the proposed site. An existing concrete irrigation ditch <br />(Stoney Point Lateral) is located approximately 210 feet south of the proposed <br />site and is not affected by this proposal. This proposal does not include any new <br />facilities, structures and roads. <br />
