CAM Mining, LLC.
Munger Canyon Mine
LOADOUT (LOMA) - REVEGETATION EVALUATION REPORT - 2013
1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 General
Cedar Creek Associates, Inc. (Cedar Creek) was contracted in 2013 by J. E. Stover and Associates,
Inc. on behalf of CAM Mining, LLC. to evaluate the revegetated areas of the Loadout facility near the
town of Loma, Colorado. Data collection was performed in the interest of ascertaining progress toward
revegetation success in general accordance with Rule 3.03, Release of Performance Bonds. The general
location and specific sample points of the revegetation area are displayed on Map 1. Field sampling for
the directly measurable variable of ground cover was systematically conducted on June 1, 2013 as the
vegetation was reaching its peak production period. Field efforts in 2013 were conducted by Cedar
Creek's Senior Plant Ecologist, Mr. Erik M. Mohr; and Range Ecologist, Ms. Lisa C. Garrison.
1.2 Precipitation
Precipitation data presented on Table P and Charts P1 and P2 was recorded at two weather stations
(Fruits, CO) which are approximately four miles southeast of the Loadout Facility. These weather
stations are the nearest to the site and provide a comparison of long -term trends in precipitation in the
region. The overall average annual precipitation for the past 100 years is 9.25 inches while the monthly
average ranges from 0.48 inches in June to 0.97 inches in August. Average winter precipitation is 1.68
inches while spring, summer, and fall averages 2.46, 2.16, and 2.64 inches, respectively (Charts P1 and
P2). Review of Chart P1 further reveals that seasonal precipitation in the past eight years has been
variable ranging from 0.90 inches to 5.97 inches, with the higher values consistently occurring in the fall.
Review of Chart P2 indicates that precipitation for the 2012/2013 growing season was significantly below
average at 65% of normal. Summer and fall precipitation preceding the 2013 sampling effort can be
considered well below average (both 42% of normal); while winter and spring precipitation was slightly
below average at 89% and 90% of normal precipitation, respectively.
CEDAR CREEK ASSOCIATES, Inc.
