EXHIBIT E
Reclamation Plan
PICKENPAUGH GRAVEL PIT (M- 1978 -078)
The majority of the overburden and topsoil will be stockpiled until the time
for closing the operation approaches. Some will be replaced in areas of the
operation where reclamation will commence and to depths necessary for
stability of the slope.
Reclaimed slopes will be approximately 3 -1.
Measures taken to re- vegetate the site will be in accordance with the
reclamation plan recommended by Natural Resources Conservation Service
(see reverse side for these recommendations).
The seeding mixture and rates determined by the NRCS (see NRCS Range
and Pasture / Hayland Seeding) will be followed by Lincoln County for all
reclamation done at this site.
A minimum of 6 inches of topsoil will be set aside for reclamation, and
stabilized with a vegetative cover.
The berm on the Northeastern boundary of the pit will be monitored and
maintained until final reclamation and release of the site has been achieved.
Weed control will be monitored and executed until full reclamation has been
achieved.
Measures taken to minimize disturbance to the hydrological balance are as
excavation proceeds from Southeast to Northwest:
Exposed surface area should be minimal. The disturbed area will be back
sloped to reduce runoff possibilities. The lower area of the operation is flat
and porous and should slow runoff from the exposed surface area. If
necessary a fast growing cover of Prosso millet can be sown to retard any
runoff possibilities.
