PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />A. DEWATERING TRENCH PIPE - ADS single wall HDPE perforated pipe, slotted <br />perforation pattern type B. The slots shall have a maximum width of 0.118 inches, <br />and provide a minimum inlet area of 1.5 square - inches per foot of pipe. <br />B. RISER PIPE — ADS dual wall / N -12 HDPE solid pipe. <br />C. Zone III earthfill material. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 GENERAL <br />A. The Contractor shall review the available subsurface data for the Project site. It <br />shall be the Contractor's responsibility to evaluate the subsurface conditions at the <br />Project site with respect to required dewatering facilities, including any additional <br />groundwater monitoring data obtained by the Contractor. <br />B. The Contractor shall, at all times during construction, provide ample means and <br />devices to remove promptly and dispose of properly all water entering excavations <br />and keep the bottoms of the excavations firm and free of standing water and side <br />slopes stable until the fill to be placed therein has been placed. <br />C. The pumping and dewatering operations shall be carried out in such a manner that <br />no disturbance to the bearing soil or to soil supporting any other work will result <br />from the dewatering operations. Discharged water may be piped downstream after <br />silt removal. The dewatering discharge shall not cause siltation or other negative <br />environmental impact on natural waterways or other property; such discharge shall be in <br />accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. At dewatering <br />discharge locations, erosion- bales, silt barriers or other erosion control measures, as <br />approved by the Engineer, shall be installed to control and prevent siltation. Erosion <br />control measures shall be in accordance with the requirements specified in Section <br />3125 13. <br />D. The dewatering system shall be operated continuously as necessary to prevent <br />flooding /excess wetting of work areas. <br />3.2 DEWATERING REQUIREMENTS <br />Furnish, install, maintain, and operate a dewatering system which shall prevent loss of fines, <br />boiling, or quick conditions, and maintains stability of bottoms of excavations so that every phase <br />of the Work can be performed in the dry. The dewatering operations shall be such that the surface <br />of fills in all work areas shall be kept dry at all times and in all respects acceptable to the <br />Engineer as a good working surface. <br />NCCI Pit #1 Reservoir Liner - Technical Specifications Dewatering <br />312319 -2 <br />
