PERMIT #: M -1977 -346
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: August 19, 2014
OBSERVATIONS
This was a site inspection of on -going reclamation activity taking place at the Boettcher Gypsum permit at the
request of the permittee ( Holcim). After a site inspection earlier this year, the lack of reclamation was cited as a
problem by DBMS. Holcim was allowed until September 30, 2014 to complete the required earthwork, grading
and seeding of the site for final reclamation.
At the time of this inspection all grading of the disturbed areas had been completed, and topsoil had been
imported and spread to facilitate revegetation. The earthwork appears to be well done and stable, with all slopes
well blended into the surrounding landscape (please see attached photos). Holcim provided DRMS with a
technical revision to update/ revise the reclamation seed mix to a rangeland mix suggested to them by Larimer
County. The updated seed mix has since been approved by DRMS, and seeding was projected to occur between
the week of August 25 and September 12.
DRMS considers the problem cited in the earlier 2014 inspection report to be resolved at this time. Holcim will
still need to maintain the site while the vegetation establishes, and control /eliminate any noxious weeds that try
to establish in the disturbed areas until the site is eligible for final release.
Inspection Contact Address
Mike Toelle
Holcim (US) Inc.
3500 Highway 120
Florence, CO 81226
