Compliance With Mine Plan - Support Facilities Not On-site <br />NAN <br /> - Other - Special Categories Of Mining <br />NAR <br /> - Processing Waste - Topsoil <br /> <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />This was a partial coal inspection conducted by Jason Musick of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining <br />and Safety on August 13 and 14, 2014. The purpose of this inspection was to evaluate the on-the-ground <br />-03 in accordance <br />with Rule 3.03.2(2). Scott Cowman and Vern Pfannenstiel of Peabody Energy accompanied the inspection. The <br />weather was clear at the start of the inspection and cloudy with rain through the conclusion of the inspection, the <br />ground was wet during the inspection. All areas to be inspected were accessible and visible. <br /> <br />Lands requested for liability release under SL-03 include 1,028 acres of land reclaimed beginning in 1978 and <br />through 2003 previously permitted under the Seneca II Mine (C-1980-005). Surface land ownership is private <br />(State of Colorado) and Mineral ownership is private (State of Colorado). Phillip Courtney and Jarod Smith of the <br />Colorado State Land Board were notified of the inspection and unable to attend. <br /> <br />FISH and WILDLIFE Rule 4.18: <br />The post-mining land use for the Peabody Sage Creek Mine is rangeland and wildlife habitat. Cattle were <br />observed grazing near stock ponds T-16 and T-8. A large group of sharp-tail grouse was observed near the area of <br />SIIPM-18 and SIIPM-19.
