of Reclamation, Mining and Safety of a reportable spill within the permit area using the <br />same timeframe required by the permit, license, notice, Act, Rule or Regulation <br />governing the reporting of the spill to the appropriate agency. Notice of a reportable spill <br />shall be faxed to: Minerals Program Supervisor, Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br />Safety, FAX (303) 832 -8106. This FAX will include a callback number of a responsible <br />official for the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety staff to use as a contact. <br />In addition, for clarification the operator HUERFANO COUNTY GOVERNMENT will use <br />the Best Management Practices (BMPs) onsite. The Best Management Practices <br />(BMPs) as defined by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Office of <br />Water (WH -547) EPA 832 -R -92 -005, September 1992 as found in Appendix E Glossary <br />as follows: <br />"Best Management Practices (BMPs): Schedules of activities, prohibitions of <br />practices, maintenance procedures, and other management practices to prevent or <br />reduce the pollution of waters of the United States. BMPs also include treatment <br />requirements, operating procedures, and practices to control plant site runoff, spillage or <br />leaks sludge or waste disposal, or drainage from raw material storage. With regard to <br />construction these may include structural devices or nonstructural practices that are <br />designed to prevent pollutants from entering water or to direct the flow of water." <br />
