Portal 6 has been installed and Colorado Stone has gathered up many of
the old waste marble blocks and stacked them in retaining walls as shown on the revised attached
Map C-2. Other changes are as follows:
The water discharging from Sump 9 will enter the mine at the historic Portal #4,This was
accomplished by building a gradual berm in the road which directs the water flow into the portal.
A Technical Revision will be submitted shortly which outlines the new hydrologic system in
detail. Also, the matting on the fines slope will be replaced by erosion waddles, new topsoil and
hydroseeding, mulching and tackifying, which is scheduled for late September. A number of tree
saplings have also been ordered and will be placed on the fines slope prior to fall snows.
A new 10,000 gallon diesel tank(double walled) has also been installed with additional concrete
containment. This tank replaces the older tank that was on site. New generators have also been
installed and the Air Emissions APEN has been submitted to CDPHE to address the site changes.
Please call if there are any questions. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Greg Lewicki, P.E.
Greg Lewicki and Associates.
Cc: Daniele Treves
