HYDROLOGIC MONITORING PLAN <br />SOUTHFIELD MINE AND LOADOUT <br />GROUND WATER/ SURFACE WATER. AND IN -MINE MONITORING <br />I. Surface Drainage Flow Sampling <br />A. Monitoring locations <br />Magpie Creek (Upper and Lower) <br />Newlin Creek (Upper and Lower) <br />Second Alkali Creek near MW -65 <br />Note: Locations of surface and ground water monitoring sites are shown on the Southfield <br />Reclamation Plan Map, (Map 33) <br />B. Sampling Frequency and Procedure <br />1. Water quality and flow data will be collected at the Newlin Creek <br />monitoring locations semi - annually, <br />2. Magpie Creek is an ephemeral drainage. Water quality and flow data <br />will be collected on an opportunistic basis, when any significant flows <br />occur. <br />3. Second Alkali Creek is an ephemeral drainage. Water quality and flow <br />data will be collected on an opportunistic basis, when any significant <br />flows occur. <br />C. Sampling Procedure <br />1. The following information will be provided on each sample <br />bottle label: <br />Station /Well designation <br />Date and time <br />Bottle number <br />Analysis code <br />Individual's initials <br />2. Samples will be collected in such a manner as to minimize <br />physical disturbance at the sample point. <br />3. Sampling devices will be cleaned prior to use and samples <br />will be placed in clean sample containers which will be <br />sealed at the sampling site. <br />4. Samples will be placed in a cooler with ice immediately after collection <br />and will be shipped within 24 hours to a <br />TR -37 1 Revised — November, 2009 <br />
