Nettleton, Jerry
To: Justin.pollack @state.co.us
jim. haskins @state.co. us
bject: FW: Twentymile Coal, LLC - TRO Coal Quality Coreholes - Wildlife Consultation Letter
Attachments: DrillSiteLocationMapWC _Overview_20140206.pdf; MR14 -275 WCR Coal Coreholes III
TL.doc
Justin —
We are requesting your assistance in reviewing information and providing a wildlife consultation letter to support the
associated permit applications for a project we plan to complete this winter:
Wolf Creek Reserve (WCR) Coal Corehole Project (Sections 17 and 21, T5N, R86W) —We plan to complete up to
four additional coal coreholes (WC011 through WC014) to characterize the Wolf Creek Coal Seam and collect
the necessary geologic information for permitting. The planned coreholes have been located adjacent to or in
close proximity to existing mine /ranch roads to minimize access requirements and disturbance. Each corehole
would require a 75' x 75' drill pad, with minor disturbance for access where the coreholes are not immediately
adjacent to existing roads. Appropriate drainage and sediment control measures would be used to control
runoff and sediment from pad areas. On completion of coring and logging each hole, coreholes would be
plugged and sealed consistent with State Engineer requirements, and drill -pad and any temporary road access
disturbance would be reclaimed. Work would be initiated as soon as all required permit approvals are received,
and would be completed during the winter (ie: prior to grouse mating season in mid - March). If all site
reclamation work is not completed by mid - March, sites would be stabilized, and reclamation would be
completed after the grouse nesting season (ie: after July 15)
ached for your reference are a map showing the proposed activities, and descriptive text. A permit application has
ueen submitted to the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS), and we have indicated that we
will forward the wildlife consultation letter on receipt.
We appreciate your cooperation and assistance. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or to discuss —
Best regards,
Jerry
Jerry M.
