PERMIT #: M- 2000 -014 <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: PSH <br />INSPECTION DATE: August 7, 2014 <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This was a conversion amendment application pre - operational inspection of the Yust Ranch Gravel Pit <br />conducted by Peter Hays with the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division). Mr. Jerry (Bud) <br />Carpenter and Ms. Dawna Heller with Grand Gravel Pit, LLC were present during the inspection. <br />The 110c to 112c conversion permit amendment application was received by the Division on June 6, 2014. <br />The application was deemed complete on June 23, 2014. The decision due date is September 22, 2014. The <br />Applicant published public notice as required by Rule 1.6.2(d) for four consecutive weeks. The last notice was <br />published on July 23, 2014. The public comment for the application ended on August 13, 2014. <br />The conversion amendment application will increase the permitted area from 41, as indicated in the <br />conversion application, to 46.41 acres. The two eastern boundary markers for the amendment area were <br />installed at the time of the inspection. The amendment area consisted of rangeland dominated by sage brush <br />vegetation and the existing scale facilities. <br />The Applicant requested a copy of a sample weed control plan during the inspection. A memo with the <br />Division's typical weed control plan requirements is attached.
