The addendum provides
information showing the borrow source and area of placement of borrow material to increase the
elevation of a portion of the access road to 7A Riser on the west side of Mayflower TSF (see
attached figure). The resumption of tailing deposition in Mayflower TSF will cause inundation
of the access road to the riser in the near future. Climax will continue to need access to the riser
for maintenance and for eventual closure of the riser.
We anticipate using approximately 2,000 cubic yards of material to raise the road grade. The
closest source of material is a former stockpile area located on the south end of the Mayflower
TSF. The stockpile consists of mine waste placed at this location during reclamation of the
historical mining areas within lower Searle Gulch. Both stockpile and the area of access road
where the stockpile material is being placed will eventually be buried by tailing. The entire
Mayflower TSF will then be reclaimed at the end of mine life and all water within the TSF will
be contained and treated as needed.
Please accept this letter and attachment as an addendum to TR-23 for your files. Climax also
will maintain this information with our copies of TR-23.
Sincerely,
Raymond Lazuk
Environmental Manager
attachment
