Thanks all for your time.
Please let me know if you have any follow -up questions.
NE TR7 0
Thursday, August 07, 2014
9:58 AM
Jim Stover (J. E. Stover & Associates, Inc.)
Ron Thompson, Louis Head, John Terry (NECC)
Marcia Talvitie, Leigh Simmons (DRMS)
Haul Road Design
Temporary approval has been granted by CDOT for passage of three 30 ton haul trucks across
highway 12.
A condition of the approval is that the trucks should not cross the highway in wet weather.
Fill slope - NECC will re- survey slopes to verify steepest gradient. DRMS will also need to verify
nature of rock in slope, by inspection, in order to satisfy the 1.3 safety factor requirement.
Vertical grade - NECC will need to address the variance from "standard" specification. Discussion
should focus on surface water flow and its potential for erosion.
Surface - NECC currently has no plans to amend the road's surface. DRMS will inspect surface for
suitability. NECC will need to plan for increased maintenance with the increased traffic. The CDOT
restriction on wet weather traffic will help to protect the haul road's surface
Leigh Simmons
aPp
Department of Natural Resources
P 303.866.3567 x 5121 1 F 303.332.8106
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203
teigh.simmons@state.co.us I http-,//mining.state.co.us/
https: / /mai l.g oog le.conVmai 1 /u /0 / ?ui =2 &i k= e29129fcb5 &view = pt &search =i nbox&th= 147bl445f8l77033 &si ml= 147bl445f8l77033 1/2
