815/2014 State.co.us Executive Branch Mail -RE: New Elk Mine, C1981012, TR68, Second adequacyreHew
refer to topsoil in stockpile on RCE task sheets in CCY for the initial volume of the stockpile.
Please correct the RCE topsoil task sheets in the next update to the RCE to correctly state the
initial topsoil volume in BCY.
I will make the necessary changes to permit text and also request the letter from CPW for pond
4. I will also attempt to determine any approved permit narrative from any revisions that may
have been approved since TR -68 was submitted and incorporate that text into the TR -68
narrative.
And lastly, once the RCE is finalized, I would be happy to review it electronically before updating
the EX 28 cumulative bond schedule page with the final numbers and submitting for your review.
Thanks again for all of your efforts. We appreciate your patience and diligence in completing this
response to the DRMS midterm review.
Kent Gorham
Gorham Energy Consultants, LLC
13356 Wild Basin Way
Broomfield CO 80020
(303) 870 -3787 (c)
(303) 465 -1274 (h)
-- - - - - -- Original Message -- - - - - --
Subject: Re: New Elk Mine, C1981012, TR68, Second adequacy review
From: "Simmons - DNR, Leigh" <leigh.simmons @state.co.us>
Date: Thu, July 31, 2014 4:10 pm
To: kent @gorhamenergyconsultants.com, Jim Stark - DNR
<jim.stark@state.co.us>
Cc: Ron Thompson <ronthompson @newelkcoal.com >, Louis Head
<Ihead @newelkcoal.com >, Alysha Hernandez - DNR
<alysha.hernandez @state.co.us>
Notes from our meeting this morning:
• Kent Gorham
• Jim Stark
• Leigh Simmons
Officers & Directors pages
OK, based on Lorencito
Topsoil
Confusion over BCY, CCY, LCY - what is our final agreed position?
Jim (i.e. the Division) refers to CAT handbook for swell factors, which are specific to material
Kent will continue to use the 21.8% swell factor (bank to loose) that is implicit in table 24.
This swell factor should be also be used to estimate the resource available from the borrow
area.
For clarity, aim to use only BCY and LCY in the permit text; try to avoid CCY
Shrubs
6shrub clumps will be specified
https: / /mail.g oog le. canimail /u/0/?ui= 2&ilc-e29129fcb5& Hew =pt& search =i nbox&th= 147939de4l788599&si m1= 147939de4l788599 215
