July 28, 2014 C- 1996- 083 /Bowie No. 2 Mine SLB
observed in the drying area.
Although significant progress has been made with moving refuse stockpiled during the winter months, a
considerable amount of material requiring placement and compaction remains in the drying area.
Gob Pile 94
Cover material was being place on Gob Pile #4, on the outslopes of the second and third benches. The material
that has been placed has resulted in the drainage break between ditches F20 and F12 being further west than the
currently approved design. Care should be taken to ensure that the drainage breaks are constructed as designed so
that the balance of flow between Ponds D and F is maintained as designed.
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS /COMPLIANCE
No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
PHOTOGRAPHS
tk 4 ♦ i. fY
'4 X (. • i
k,i
t
IN—
w
... -. .:: yeI ,dnx
,..; ...s. ... i..i: ... .._. ..Rtes `. ikf
Overview of Gob Piles #1, #2, #4, and soil storage of Gob Pile #3
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 3 of 6
