Levi,
I am forwarding to you my email to Rob Laird of July 21, 2014 which includes an attached warning letter to the
mine operator. We take very seriously the long-term basement flooding. We are working toward more action by
the mine operator. Tyler O'Donnell from DRMS will be inspecting the Speer site next week to determine our next
course of action.
Your email today asked if it would help to notify staff above my level in DRMS. My immediate supervisor is Tony
Waldron, who is well-informed on the Speer Mining Resource situation, and fully supports our current course of
action. The next level supervisor is the Director of DRMS, Ginny Brannon, who has not been involved with the
Speer Mining Resource situation, and would be your call whether to inform her of the situation.
