Box 957
Meeker, CO 81641
Re: Puckett Land Company, Nolte Pit, File No. M-2012-016, Reclamation Initiation
Required
Dear Mr. Whiteman:
The Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) is requesting that final grading and
reclamation take place. During the December 2013 Division inspection, there was a verbal
commitment that final grading would be taking place in the Spring of 2014. Per Rule 3.1.3, all
reclamation shall be carried to completion by the Operator with all reasonable diligence, and
each phase of reclamation shall be completed within five (5) years from the date the
Operator informs the Board or Office that such phase has commenced, unless extended by the
Board or Office. According to the Operators 2014 Annual Report, final reclamation is taking
place. From the Divisions observations, there has not been reclamation or final grading
occurring at this time.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining
and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, by telephone at 970.242.5025, or by e-mail at stephanie.mitcheL[@state.co.us.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Mitchell
Environmental Protection Specialist
Cc.
