Construction Project Number: FBR 0505-045 June 26,2014 <br /> Construction Subaccounts 18155 <br /> COMMENCEMENT AND COMPLETION OF WORK <br /> The Contractor shall commence work under the Contract on or before the 5`h day following Contract execution or <br /> the 20th day following the date of award,whichever comes later,unless such time for beginning the work is <br /> changed by the Chief Engineer in the "Notice to Proceed." <br /> The Contractor shall complete all work in 265 working days in accordance with the "Notice to Proceed." <br /> If materials stockpiling begins before the beginning date,contract time will not be charged for the stockpiling <br /> effort. Stockpiling of materials before the beginning date is subject to the Engineer's approval. If such approval is <br /> given, stockpiled material will be paid for in accordance with Sections 109 and 626. <br /> Section 108 of the Standard Specifications is hereby revised for this project as follows: <br /> Subsection 108.03 shall include the following: <br /> The Contractor shall use Microsoft Project or Primavera Software to develop and manage the critical path method <br /> schedule. The Contractor shall not proceed until the scheduled is reviewed and approved. <br /> Salient features to be shown on the Contractor's Progress Schedule are: <br /> (1) Notice to Proceed <br /> (2) Excavation and Embankment <br /> (3) Detour Pavement <br /> (4) Removal of Pavements <br /> (5) Aggregate Base Course <br /> (6) HMA Paving <br /> (7) Structure Removals <br /> (8) Structures <br /> (9) Drainage <br /> (10) Erosion Control <br /> (11) Signing and Striping <br /> (12) Guardrail <br /> (13) Any Item on the critical path <br /> The Contractor must schedule his work to compete the project within the time shown.The construction phasing <br /> plans are not included to limit the Contractor's work in any particular phase to only the work shown in the <br /> construction phasing plan. It may be necessary to perform work in multiple phases concurrently.The phases <br /> shown in the plans are intended to establish how traffic must be handled. <br /> The Contractor shall be responsible for scheduling and coordinating weekly project status meetings. These <br /> meetings shall include at a minimum the Project Engineer,Contractor's Superintendent,a representative from <br /> each active Sub-Contractor,and any affected parties deemed necessary for any phase of the work.The agenda <br /> shall be approved by the Engineer and shall be the standard agenda to be used for each meeting. The first meeting <br /> shall be held the first week of any active work including placement of construction signing. The Contractor shall <br /> be responsible for maintaining the minutes of each weekly meeting. The minutes of the previous meeting and the <br /> agenda for the next meeting shall be submitted to the Engineer 3 days prior to the next meeting. <br /> 6 <br />
