Box 39
Hugo, Colorado 80821
July 30, 2014
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
c/o Amy Eschberger
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Re: Request for partial release of acreage for the Pickenpaugh Gravel Pit(M-1978-078)
Amy:
Here is my submission for the acreage reduction we had discussed. The mining plan map shows
the site as it actually exists today. There were numerous errors on the previous version. I was
surprised to find that they even had the road wrong. The reclamation plan map includes the
proposed boundary for the expansion I will seek after the release is approved. I thought this was
a more logical way of portraying this as it reflects the acreage and site appearance as it will look
at the time of reclamation(unless they later decide to do the 112 expansion). My apologies again
for the inaccuracies in our pit maps and layouts. As you know, I have been, and continue to be,
working to correct this for both of our benefit. I hope DRMS will continue to have patience with
me until I get these issues resolved. Thank you.
Respectfully,
John DeWitt
Lincoln County
Land Use Administrator
