Walsenburg Sand and Gravel - Sand Arroyo Pit Page 1 Permit # M- 1978 -283 Technical Revision - TR02 TECHNICAL REVISION - TR02 - JuLY 24, 2014 During review of the application file when researching for TR01 we found that the permit area appeared to have left out some area in the southeast corner of the site that was being used jointly between the mine and the adjoining concrete batch plant facility. During our discussion with the Division it was decided this area would be moved into the permit using a cut /add program that would involve approval of a Technical Revision to add area on the southeast side of the mine and then offset that addition by releasing a like area on the northeast side so the permit area remains unchanged. The area on the northeast is spilt into 2 parts totaling 4.0 acres. They are protrusions out of the permit boundary that have never been disturbed and remain undisturbed by the mining operation. The new southern area was determined by using the south side of the access road as the dividing line between the stockpile area and the concrete batch plant facility. It expands the permit plant site to take in area where sand stockpiles are placed that are used by Walsenburg Sand and Gravel and the concrete batch plant. Using the road as a delimitation line between the mining permit and the batch plant area made since as it is a line that is easy to mark. Attached is a Technical Revision Map Exhibit based on the revised Mining Plan Map submitted in TRO1. The proposed permit boundary is the black line, the red hatched areas are to be removed and the green hatched area is added so the permitted acreage remains at 52.0 acres. The light brown area is the area currently bonded for reclamation as approved in TRO1. REVISED LEGAL DESCRIPTION MAP. The new Legal Description map shows the new permit line with the bearing and distance labels for each leg. If this change is approved then this will become the official legal description map that will be used to mark the boundary around the mine. This outline was arrived at by moving the original Point of Beginning (POB) that is the south post on the east road gate. While this was the original POB it was not on the permit boundary only a referenced starting point. We then stayed with the existing boundary except along the north side and in the south east corner where minor line changes were made as described above. This allowed us to partially straighten the north line and take in area that is can be used for processing and stockpile ares and end the south line at the gate post. This way we consolidate the corner marker points into one line that will be easier to maintain.
