Box 1030
N Rio Grande Ave.
Paonia, CO 81428
970 -527 -4131
File Code: 2820
Date: July 22, 2014
The Paonia Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
(GMUG) has completed its review of Mountain Coal Company's Technical Revision -135,
proposing minor changes in the location of methane drainage wells and associated road access in
the E6 panel of the E Seam Methane Drainage Wells Project on National Forest System lands.
Our review has found that this proposal is subject to the March 2008 Record of Decision (2008)
for the E Seam Methane Drainage Wells Project. Its proposed measures to protect federal
resources and the post- mining land use are consistent with the design features identified in the
ROD. No additional conditions of approval are required to protect federal resources and to
support the post- mining land use as defined in the Forest Plan for the GMUG National Forest.
A representative of the Paonia Ranger District was present during the relocation of the roads and
well pads and no additional resource concerns were identified.
Please contact Daniel Gray (970) 527 -4131 or via email at degraykfs.fed.us with any questions
or concerns.
Sincerely,
act sLOW
Isl Levi K Ales
LEVI K.
