®Cameo L'E
Via Email and U.S. Mail
July 18, 2014 RECEIVED
,Mr. Tom Kaldenbach VJUL ? 2 Z014
Division of Reclamation, Mining& Safety
' 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 Division at itecearnation,
Denver, CO 80203 Mining Safety
Re: Schwartzwalder Mine, Permit No. M-1977-300
>Jater Quality Data for April 2014 and Adjusted Mine Level Measurements for February-
April 2014
Dear Mr. Kaldenbach:
With respect to the Schwartzwalder Mine site, enclosed please find monthly water quality
monitoring results for the month of April 2014 (with certain data collected on May 1, 2014),
and adjusted daily mine water level measurements for the period February through April
2014. This submittal represents continuation of routine monthly reporting of water quality
monitoring results and daily mine pool levels. It includes data from the new groundwater
monitoring wells. There was not enough water in monitor well 16 to collect a sample.
The new cable was received and the new water level probe was placed in the shaft on April 10,
2014. A physical measurement of depth to water was made at that time, showing the mine
pool surface at 23.05 feet below the Steve collar or 6,578.89 feet in elevation.
In February 2014, when the old probe started to produce erratic results, an attempt was made to
withdraw the probe. The attempt was not successful. After the new probe was installed in
Shaft#2, an attempt was made on April 17, 2014 to bring the new probe up out of the shaft,
and that attempt was unsuccessful. These activities resulted in the probe ending at different
elevations on February 27, April 10, and April 17, 2014. Accordingly the attached mine pool
water levels have been adjusted to account for these changes in probe elevation referenced to
the measurement made on April 10, 2014, and cover the period February through April 2014.
Cotter Corporation Telephone(719)275-7413
Canon City Mill,P.O.Box 1750,Canon City,CO 81215-1750 USA Fax(719)275-1669
