10.14 14-ta"Im
SITE DESCRIPTION:
The site is located on a 35 acre tract at 787 County Road 120. The property lies approximately 1
mile northwest of the State Highway 140 /County Road 120 intersection in the NEl /4SWl /4 of
Section 26, Township 35 North, Range 11 West, New Mexico Principal Meridian, La Plata
County, Colorado. The southerly boundary line of the property is contiguous with the northerly
right -of -way of County Road 120. The entrance to the gravel pit site is via a private road known
as Equestrian Trail and is located on the northerly side of the property. The site is relatively flat
with groves of gamble oak and native grasses scattered throughout the property. Based on Soil
Survey data provided by the Natural Resources Conservation Service, this site lies within Map
Unit Area 49 and is defined as Pastorius cobbly loam. There are no permanent man-made structures
within 200 feet of the site and there are no natural water resources in the area that would receive
drainage from this operation. An existing residential water well is located approximately 240 feet
south of the proposed pit site boundary and is permitted by Colorado Division of Water Resources
under Permit #166482. It is approximately 100 feet deep and pumps 10 GPM. No usage of this
well is being proposed for this gravel operation.
