July 16, 2014 C-1982-056/Foidel Creek Mine JDM <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Pond B Discharge Flume Repair Sediment Basin Cleaning <br /> <br />- The embankments of Ponds B, C, and E displayed heavy whitetop growth and should be managed per the <br />Evidence of weed spraying was observed throughout <br />requirements in the C-1982-056 weed management plan. <br />the site <br />. <br />- The erosion control measures at the discharge of Pond D will require maintenance. The silt fence and straw <br />waddles are no longer adequate. The silt fence has been buried and displaced and the waddles are displaced. <br />Maintenance of the BMPs will be required or reinstallation of the BMPs is required. If Twentymile Coal believes <br />that the BMPs are no longer required please provide evidence to the Division of adequate protection of the area <br />The silt fence and erosion control waddles have been repaired and re-installed. <br />from disturbance. <br /> <br />Pond D Outlet Repair <br /> <br />Maintenance items remaining from the May 22, 2014 coal partial inspection which were not inspected: <br />- Non-coal waste in the form of wooden blocks was observed throughout the edges of the Area 1 Pit. All non- <br />coal waste should be disposed of appropriately to ensure function of the Area 1 Pit discharge to Sedimentation <br />Pond D. <br />- <br />D embankment were observed. These pipes were not functioning at the time of the inspection with one housing <br />electrical cable stockpiled on the Pond D embankment and the other empty. If these pipes are required, <br />identification on appropriate maps is needed.
