July 15, 2014 C-2009-087/Peabody Sage Creek Mine JDM <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Upper Sump Lower Sump <br /> <br />Ditches and culverts observed throughout the main facilities area are stable and functioning as designed with the <br />exception of the following: <br /> <br />Previously identified items yet to be addressed as of the date of this inspection: <br />- Culvert SC-11 was covered at the outlet with the inlet ~half full of material. <br />- Culvert SC-13 was ~half full of material at the inlet. <br />-The silt fence along Ditch FA-D4 will require repair and re-installation as designed or, if only required during <br />construction, removal. <br />-Heavy Houndstounge in and around Ditch FA-D4. <br />-The Coal Storage Area pad slope into FA-D1 near the electrical pad substation requires seeding. A seep appears <br />to be in this area. Erosion control may be warranted. <br /> <br />No portal water was being pumped into FA-D4 at the time of the inspection. <br />The spoil water relief borehole was open with water reporting to the Portal #2 sump. <br /> <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />The majority of the mine site was previously approved under the Seneca II Mine (C-1980-005). These areas, with <br />the exception of the currently approved disturbance boundary have been Phase II released. The reclaimed areas <br />are stable with good vegetation growth and no problems noted.
