PERMIT#: M-1980-146
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: KAP
INSPECTION DATE:June 30,2014
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Division or Reclamation, Mining and Safety monitoring program.
The site is fully active. There is a near vertical highwall on the northern end of the site. The highwall to the
east has been partially graded and seeded. The remainder needs to be graded, which can be done from
above, since large stockpiles of fill material are located at the top of the slope. The highwall on the western
side of the site will be mined through and daylight into the adjacent, county pit. There is an abundance of
overburden at the site, therefore ample material is available for final grading. The deep pit to the east will be
filled with some of the excess fill material. Some of the stockpiled overburden is slated to be moved prior to
final reclamation. The 'island' of material located in the center of the site is going to be mined out.
A financial warranty calculation was conducted as part of this inspection. The amount held by the Division
appears to be adequate. The calculation for the BLM portion of the site was forwarded to Helen Mary
Johnson, of BLM, for her review.
