West Elk Mine 2013 Annual Hydrology Report 31 <br />3.2.3.8 Spring G -49 <br />Spring G -49 is located on the north flank of Jumbo Mountain, west of Gribble Gulch, in <br />an unnamed drainage tributary to the NFGR (Map 2). The spring is situated north of the <br />Jumbo Mountain mine panels area. Flow is perennial, but diminishes in the autumn. <br />This spring issues from alluvium, and has been monitored since 1995. <br />3.2.4 Springs above the E -Seam in the Minnesota Creek and <br />Dry Fork Drainage Basin <br />3.2.4.1 Spring J -4 <br />Spring J -4 is located in East Gulch, East of Horse Gulch and is tributary to the Dry Fork <br />and Minnesota Creek (Map 2). This spring is situated above the SOD mine panels area. <br />This spring issues from alluvium, is seasonal, and flow is significantly reduced or dry in <br />late summer or autumn. Hydrologic monitoring at this spring began in 1981. <br />3.2.4.2 Deer Creek Spring <br />Deer Creek Spring is a decreed domestic spring located in Deer Creek which is tributary <br />to Dry Fork (Map 2). It is located above the SOD mine panels area. The source of this <br />spring is not known. This spring typically has perennial flow, but shows strong seasonal <br />variations with very low flows in the late summer and autumn months. This spring has <br />been monitored since 2006. <br />3.2.4.3 Spring WCC -24 <br />Spring WCC -24 is a perennial spring located in a small unnamed tributary on the south <br />side of the Dry Fork (Map 2). It is located west of the SOD mine panels area. The <br />source of this spring is not known. This spring typically has perennial flow, but shows <br />strong seasonal variations with the highest flows occurring in the late summer and <br />autumn months. This spring has been monitored since 2006. <br />3.2.4.4 Spring J -2 <br />Spring J -2 is located in Lick Creek which is tributary to Minnesota Creek (Map 2). This <br />spring is located south of the SOD mine panels area. The source of this spring appears to <br />issue from colluvium. Flow is typically less than 0.5 gallons per minute and does not <br />show strong seasonal variation. This spring has been monitored since 2006. <br />3.2.4.5 Spring J -7 <br />Spring J -7 is located in Poison Gulch which is tributary to Dry Fork (Map 2). It is within <br />the SOD mine panels area. The source of this spring appears to issue from alluvium. <br />This spring is seasonal and flow only occurs during peak flow conditions.
