Applegate
Group, Inc.
Water Resource Advisors for the West
July 7,2014
Mr. Berhan Keffelew
Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, RM 215
Denver,CO 80203
RE: Brannan Sand&Gravel Company Pit 29,Permit No. M-1980-183, Water Level Monitoring—
REVISED LETTER
Dear Mr.Keffelew:
We recently submitted to your office a copy of our water level readings for the month of June 2014,but it
has been noticed that a typographical error was found in the tabulated data. Please disregard the prior
submittal, dated July 2,2014, and use this letter instead. Thank you for your consideration.
Pursuant to Revision TR-3 we are submitting the monitor well measurements for the quarter ending June
30,2014.There were three monitor wells on the site;MW-1 (east),MW-2(south)and MW-4(west). The
well MW-3 has been abandoned, and MW-4 has been added as a replacement. Attached is the report
showing the well measurements taken on July 1, 2014, and a figure showing the location of the
monitoring wells.
We would also like to note that we have, as of February 4, 2013, placed a pressure transducer in the
reservoir on the east side of the property. (An additional pressure transducer was placed in the monitoring
well (MW-4) on January 3, 2013.) These transducers will take readings once every hour, and we will be
able to access these readings when we visit the site periodically. We have had the appropriate locations of
the transducers surveyed for a correct elevation reading, and have compared the elevation of the water
table underneath MW-4 to the water surface elevation at the reservoir. A plot of our hourly measurements
is also included.
If you have any questions please call me at your convenience.
Cordially,
Applegate Group, Inc.
Red e/V
Stephen Buechner JUL 10 014
Water Resource Engineer I/,0310t4
SB/ta P';t?'f1V;AALA14ATION
Enclosures
cc: Eugene Riordan,Esq.
Theran Olsen,Brannan Sand and Gravel
AG File No. 10-116
NA10116 Brannan Pit 29\Disciplines(Technical)\WRPM\Water Rights\2014 Reports\TR report 6.14.docx
129%West 3`d Street,Suite 2 1490 W.121"Avenue,Suite 100 118 W.61h Street,Suite 100
Salida,CO 81201 Denver,CO 80234 Glenwood Springs,CO 81601
303-452-6611
www.applegategroup.com
