STATE OF
COLORADO
Melanie Cooper/ Pueblo
Cazier - DNR, Tim <tim.cazier @state.co.us> Thu, Jun 5, 2014 at 8:52 AM
To: Melanie Cooper < beyondpanic@ic loud. corn >
Cc: Tyler O'Donnell - DNR <tyler.odonnelI @state.co.us >, TC Wait <tc.wait @state.co.us>
Hi Melanie,
Tyler forwarded your email to me indicating you had talked to a state water guy from Denver. It sounds like he
may have more information on the local groundwater. Do you have his name and /or phone number? We'd like to
talk with him and see what additional information he might have. More information is always better.
I also wanted to let you know that an inspection of an inactive mine site about a mile and a half west of you is
showing similar cracks in the soil surface and this site has not had any mining activity for many years. We may
do additional irnestigations there, but no decisions in that regard have been made.
I knew you would not be happy about the extension for moving the stockpile and I apologize for the situation. We
informed Transit Mix we were not pleased with their progress and will continue to monitor the situation.
Tim Cazier, P.E.
Environmental Protection Specialist
COLORADO
Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
P 303.866.3567 x8169 I F 303.832.8106 1 C 303.328.5229
1313 Sherman St., Room 215, Denver, CO 80203
tim.cazier@state.co.us I www.mining.state.co.us
--- - -- Forwarded message - - - - - --
From: O'Donnell - DNR, Tyler <tyler.odonnell @state.co.us>
Date: Wed, Jun 4, 2014 at 8:00 AM
Subject: Fwd: Melanie Cooper/ Pueblo
To: Tim Cazier - DNR <tim.cazier @state.co.us >, TC Wait - DNR <tc.wait @state.co.us>
[Quoted text hidden]
Tyler O'Donnell
Environmental Protection Specialist
