the Revenue Pile during months when an avalanche could occur. For this reason, there
is a bond increase, which has been calculated. All of the narrative for this use is included
in the new Appendix 16 and the revised bond calculation of Exhibit L.
4) Allow the temporary placement of potentially contaminated tailings in a new concrete
lined pad area north of the Filter Building, as shown on the revised mine plan maps. This
area of approximately 40 feet x 50 feet is already disturbed and accounted for in the
reclamation bond. An additional area west of the dry /office building will be used for tails
that are simply too wet too compact. This area of approximately 100 feet x 50 feet is
already disturbed and accounted for in the reclamation bond. The most important reason
for the use of this area is to allow an area to temporarily store wet tailings that cannot be
directly placed in either of the permanent waste piles because proper compaction of the
wet tailings cannot be achieved. Once the bridge to the Atlas tailings storage area is
constructed and the sediment pond is installed there, wet tails can also be temporarily
stored there until the moisture level is adequate for compaction.
5) An avalanche deflection berm will be constructed west of the office /dry room building as
described in the attached plans.
All materials, maps, TR form and check are attached. Please call me if you have any questions.
Thanks. The maps that have changed for this Technical Revision are Maps C -2, C -2, C -4, F and
G -14, G -15 and L -1.
Sincerely,
Greg Lewicki, Project Engineer
Greg Lewicki and Associates
CC: John E.
