OF
\ COLORAD4
rapt
Climax PDWTP Operations Status
Lazuk, Raymond <Raymond_Lazuk @fmi.com>
To: "Scott, Eric" <Eric.Scott @state.co.us>
Eric,
Mon, Jul 7, 2014 at 3:16 PM
This email is in response to our phone conversation this morning when I informed you that we would begin
discharging treated water from the Property Discharge Water Treatment Plan (PDWTP) this afternoon. The plant
began discharging treated water to Tenmile Creek from the new discharge pipe (CDPS Permit C00000248,
Outfall 002A) around noon today. The effluent looks normal with no issues being reported by operations. Our
plan is to cut off all flow to Tenmile drainage from the former Mayflower decant pipe tomorrow. If we are
successful with that effort then the next step is to cease all lime addition to the Mayflower TSF from the 3 Dam
lime station. At that time we will rely solely on the PDWTP for stage 2 metals removal going forward.
Please let me know if you have any questions on the transition from the 3 Dam /Mayflower TSF to the PDWTP for
stage 2 metals removal.
- Ray
Raymond Lazuk
Environmental Manager
Climax Molybdenum Company - Climax Mine
Highway 91 - Fremont Pass
Climax, CO 80429
Office: 719- 486 -7584
Cell: 719- 201 -1282
raymond_lazuk @fmi.com
Lazuk, Raymond <Raymond_Lazuk @fmi.com>
To: "Scott, Eric" <Eric.Scott @state.co.us>
[Quoted text hidden]
Mon, Jul 7, 2014 at 3:42 PM
