Further relevant discussions to the hydrologic regime of the expansion area will be
covered in the 2013 Annual Hydrology Report, including extended Water -Level
Elevation maps depicting the extent of subsurface water and overall geologic
trends.
ii. Division's Response: Trapper's Permit section 2.7.5; Pre - Mining Conditions —
Ground Water, indicates baseline investigations covered the western portion of the
permit area, i.e. the area from Pyeatt Gulch west. In 1985, baseline information
was collected to cover the eastern portion of the permit area, i.e. Pyeatt Gulch and
the area to the east. Specifically, Sections 2.7.5.1 and 2.7.5.1 a, Sections 2.7.5.2
and 2.7.5.2a as well as Sections 2.7.5.3 and 2.7.3a, contain the baseline
groundwater information for the current permit area. The sections with an (a) at
the end of the section number covers the eastern permit area. Trapper's response to
the first adequacy review indicates that there are changes to the groundwater
regime within the expansion area, though not dramatic. The response also
indicates relevant groundwater information will be updated with the annual
hydrology report. Baseline groundwater information should be included in permit
section 2.7.5 that currently contains this information and not solely in the Annual
Hydrology Report. Prior to the approval of PR7, Trapper will need to add
information about the ground water regime required in Rule 2.04.7(1)(a) to the
permit section 2.7.5 which contains the baseline groundwater information. At this
time, this item remains outstanding.
iii. Trapper's Response #2: Please see the attached permit pages (2 -4144 2-
414., 2 -520ww to 2- 520zz, 2- 520aaa to 2- 520zz, 2- 520aaaa to 2- 520gggg, and
2 -523y) updating Sections 2.7.5.1, 2 and 3 with new sub - sections and data
addressing baseline groundwater information in the eastern expansion area.
Map series M54 has also been updated with current ground water elevations
for the entire mine including the permit expansion area.
b. For the expansion area please update the surface water information contained in permit
section 2.7.4 with the information required from Rule 2.04.7(2)(a) and (2)(b)(i).
Trapper's Response: The surface water regime of the expansion area is similar to
the existing permitted mine area. Enclosed Table 2.7 -12 of section 2.7.4 has been
updated with new information in regard to the expansion area. The remaining
discussion within section 2.7.4 is still applicable to the expansion area. Enclosed
revised Map M -51 (sheet 3) and Map M -31 (included in the original PR -7
submittal) depict relevant surface water courses and surrounding water resources in
the area. Prior studies and information gathered on the characteristics of the
surface water regimes of the Williams Fork Mountains would pertain to the
expansion area. Trapper will submit additional relevant information as needed
once monitoring of the affected drainages is conducted.
ii. Division's Response: The minimum surface water information required in
accordance with Rule 2.04.7(2)(b)(i) is the minimum, maximum and average flow
which identify critical low flow and peak discharge rates of streams sufficient to
identify seasonal variations. Trapper has identified two additional subdrainage
basins within the expansion area; Deacon and Jeffway. For surface water within
these subdrainage basins, Trapper will need to submit the information required by
