Skies were generally overcast, and <br />temperatures were warm. <br />I arrived at the Bowie offices (located at the Bowie No. 2 Mine) at 3:00 p.m. on the 10th, and <br />conducted the records check. I was informed that Basil Bear would be out of the office all week <br />for mine rescue training. <br />Upper portions of the East Mine were inspected on foot that afternoon, together with the <br />reclaimed water line and power line corridor that connect the mine to the Well Field. On the <br />11th, I inspected the Loadout, the West Mine, the Timber Storage Area, and the Sediment Ponds. <br />PERMITTING UPDATE: <br />TR -58 Sediment Pond Removal - The DRMS issued a proposed decision to approve (with <br />Stipulation) the revision on June 9, 2014. Assuming no objections are received, it will be <br />formally issued on July 1. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />• The mine's records were available for review at Basil Bear's office at the Bowie No. 2 Mine. <br />A completed DRMS Availability of Records form is attached to this report. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />• Bear scat was abundant along the reclaimed power line and water line corridor north of the <br />East Mine. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures <br />4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments <br />4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />• The ground surface was dry throughout the permit area, and all sediment ponds were dry. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 12 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 5 Page 2 of 11 <br />
