The Division has <br />conducted two years of vegetation monitoring and is in the process of writing a bond release findings document <br />for a full Phase I, II and III release and termination of jurisdiction (SL-01). The weather was warm and sunny and <br />the ground was dry at the time of the inspection. <br />BACKFILL and GRADING <br /> Rule 4.14: Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour <br />4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials <br />4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br />- The backfilled east portal and facilities area remained stable at the time of the inspection. There was no evidence <br />of any cracking, settling or slumping in the backfilled areas. There were no erosional problems noted on either <br />part of the backfilled east mine. <br />- The backfilled bleeder entries area was stable at the time of the inspection. This small disturbance showed no <br />signs of settling, cracking or slumping at the time of the inspection. There were no erosional problems noted at the <br />bleeder entries. <br />- The backfilled west mine portal and facilities area remains stable. There was evidence of any settling, cracking <br />or slumping in the backfilled areas at the time of the inspection. There were no erosional problems noted in the <br />west mine areas. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE <br /> - Rule 4.05: Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />- The large riprapped drainage channel on the west portion of the east mine facilities area remains stable. There is <br />a good amount of vegetation that is growing in the channel, further stabilizing it.
