Records are stored at the office located at <br />the Peabody Sage Creek Mine. Katryna Snowden of Seneca Coal Company accompanied the inspector during a <br />portion of the inspection on 6/18/2014. <br />The weather was dry and clear in on 6/17 with winds picking up during the afternoon of 6/17 and 6/18. Light <br />showers moved in tduring the afternoon of 6/18. The mine is a reclaimed surface mine. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS –Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />Records were checked in the Peabody Sage Creek Office. Records check is found at the end of this report. <br />DRMS Inspection reports are incomplete inthe file. Two September 2013, February 2014, and April 2014 need to <br />be placed in the file at the mine site. <br />SCC needs to file theDRMS letter confirming approved bond and the current amount in the bond file. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE –Rule 4.18: <br />Deer and elk were observed throughout portions of the reclaimed mine site. Turkey vultures were soaring <br />over the southern extents of PM1-1. <br />ASwainson’s Hawk was seen being badgered by smaller birds. Several Red-tailed hawks were observed soaring <br />over the reclaimed areas as well. A porcupine was hangingout under the Pond 015 flume.
