We have the following
questions and comments:
Rule 2.05.3(3) Operation Plan — Permit Area — Mine Facilities
1. Table 19 — Surface Facilities, contains a list of all facilities at the mine, indexed by the
map on which they are shown.
Please update table 19 to include the changes made to Map 11 Sheet 1. Specifically, the
RDA Belt Addition and the Explosives /Chemicals storage area should be added.
2. Page 2.05 -7 describes conveyors.
Please update page 2.05 -7 to describe the RDA BeltAddition.
Rule 2.05.3(3) Operation Plan — Permit Area — Mine Facilities and Rule 4.03.1— Haul Roads
3. The material submitted seeks to change the approved design of the RDA haul road. The
design that had been previously approved (with TR66) met the specifications laid out in
Rule 4.03.1(3) — Design and Construction. The revised design should address all of these
criteria, specifically:
a. (Vertical Alignment) The profile drawing suggests that although the overall
grade is < 10% and the maximum grade is < 15 %, there is a —800' long segment
of the road with a grade in excess of 10 %.
b. (Horizontal Alignment) No issues.
c. (Width) The design on Map 11 — Sheet lshows a minimum width of 15'.
d. (Road Cuts) The design on Map 11— Sheet lshows a maximum cut slope of
1.5h: Iv, or 0.25h: Iv in rock, which is accordance with the specification.
e. (Road Embankments) The design on Map 11 — Sheet lshows a maximum fill
slope of 2h: Iv, or 1.3h: Iv where the fill is 85% rock, which is slightly steeper
pF C0
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http: / /mining.state.co.us I *
John W.
