EXHIBIT A
LEGAL DESCRIPTION and LOCATION MAP
The Crystal Hill Project is located in the Crystal Hill Mining District, west of the San Luis Valley, in
south-central Saguache County, Colorado. All planned activity will be located in the SE 1/4 of
Section 28, Township 43 North, Range 6 East, New Mexico Prime Meridian at the site of the
historic Crystal Hill open pit mine. The main entrance is located at 37° 56' 33.39" N, 106° 18'
43.69" W.
The Crystal Hill mine lies near the drainage divide between upper Biedell Creek and Sanderson
Gulch, in the foothills of the La Garita Range. The area around the mine is moderately hilly,
generally open land with infrequent stands of pinon and juniper woodland.
Road access to Crystal Hill is from the town of La Garita via eight miles of graded road along
Biedell Creek, or alternately via 13 miles of graded road along Sanderson Gulch.
The operations for which this application is made includes reactivation of the old Crystal Hill
open pit. All operations will be located on patented claims. Patented claims controlled are:
Adelia, Adriatic, Atlantic, Baltic, Buckhorn, Celtic, Oceanic, Queen of Sheba, Esperanza, Carnero
and Antonio. Unpatented lode claims are XTAL 1-10 (CMC280780—CMC280769), CREST 1-10
(CMC283021—CMC283030), and POND 1-10 (CMC284265—CMC284274).
Total ground disturbance from the operation will be less than 10 acres and limited to inside the
historic open pit and on the adjacent, historic waste dump.
LOCATION MAP ATTACHED:
Location Map With Road Access
