•
•
0
2.05.4(2)(e)
Astragalus cicer (LUTANA) Cicer milkvetch
Sphaeralcea coccinea Scarlet globemallow
The third seed mix will be used to revegetate the disturbed areas mapped as
Juniper Woodland and Mixed Shrub. Although both communities were shrub
dominated, the seed mix will reflect the reclamation goal of establishing an
herb dominated community more than the original composition of the
communities. Additionally, species that have been noted as being successfully
established at nearby reclaimed areas in the Blue Ribbon, Bear 1 & 2, and
North Thompson Creek mine sites have been included. Although emphasis
has been placed on reestablishing an herbaceous community, shrubs will be
seeded to reestablish a balanced community. Reestablishing a highly diverse
community using locally important species where possible was stressed. The
mix is listed below. Two or more of the optional species will be included in the
seed mix at a rate of 6 PLS /ft2. The optional species that will be selected will
be at the operator's discretion.
The third seed mix will also be used to revegetate the minor disturbance
associated with the vent shaft pad and light use road located in Freeman
Gulch and gob vent borehole pads and associated light use roads.
Seed Mix No. 3 - Upland Mix
Species Name (VARIETY)
Common Name
Grasses
Elymus lanceolatus
thickspike wheatgrass
Elymus lanceolatus ssp. psammophilus
streambank wheatgrass
Elymus trachycaulus ssp. trachycaulus
slender wheatgrass
Agropyron smithii (ARRIBA)
Western wheatgrass
Elymus cinereus (TRAILHEAD)
Great Basin wildrye
Festuca ovina (COVAR)
Sheep fescue
Achnatherum hymenoides
Indian ricegrass
Poa canbyi, Stipa viridula
Green needlegrass
Forbs
Artemisia ludoviciana (SUMMIT) Prairie sage
Aster glaucodes Blueleaf aster
Astragalus cicer (LUTANA) Cicer milkvetch
Linum lewisii (APPAR) Lewis flax
Medicago sativa (NOMAD) _ _ Alfalfa
Sanguisorba minor (DELAR) Small burnet
PR -12
APko VC- -D
lI /tic 116
2.05-70
POUNDS PLS/
ACRE
2.5
1.5
1.0
1.4
1.2
0.2
0.95
0.88
0.1
0.3
1.1
0.5
0.7
2.8
02/10
