The application was deemed complete for purposes of filing on May 8, 2014,
following GCC's providing a revised application form and public notice. Federal, State and
Local agencies were notified by the Division of the application's completeness.
GCC estimates that an additional 2.1 acres of surface (on land owned by the State Land Board of
Colorado) will be disturbed by the activities proposed with this TR. In a response dated June 4,
2014 (attached, for your reference), the State Historic Preservation Officer stated, "...we believe
that a finding of no historic properties affected is appropriate for the proposed exploration
drilling activities ". The Division of Water Resources provided comments on June 16, 2014,
which address the need for notifying that agency if GCC intends to use any of the exploration
holes for groundwater monitoring. The DWR letter is also attached. No other entities submitted
comments regarding the proposed activities.
The Division understands that Public Notice of the revision was anticipated to appear in the May
10, 2014 edition of The Durango Herald, which would result in the period for public comment or
objection extending through May 20, 2014. No comments were received from the general
public, however, Proof of Publication has not yet been provided, so determination of the
comment period is only tentative. Please submit the Proof of Publication at your earliest
convenience.
With TR -22, GCC has proposed the inclusion of three new items as Appendices to the King II
permit binder:
1.
