Weather <br />conditions at the time of the inspection were sunny and warm; ground conditions were dry. <br />The permit for the Bear Mine has been revoked and the reclamation performance bond has been forfeited. The <br />Abandoned Mined Land program of DRMS will contract with a third party to complete the remaining reclamation <br />tasks for the site. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />The treatment pond held water, and was draining to the North Fork of the Gunnison River. <br />The sediment pond held water; the water level was at the bottom of the gated primary spillway, which was closed <br />at the time of the inspection. <br />The Edwards Portal seep was flowing to the treatment pond. <br />ROADS Rule 4.03Construction 4.03.1(3) 14.03.2(3)Drainage 4.03.1(4)14.03.2(4) Surfacing and <br />Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)14.03.2(5) and (6)Reclamation 4.03.1(7)14.03.2(7): <br />The access road into the site was in fair condition; vegetation is starting to break up the pavement along the road <br />edges. The bridge crossing the North Fork of the Gunnison River was in poor condition as decking continues to <br />rot and break apart. Vehicular access to the site is precluded by jersey barriers placed by the Division to ensure <br />public safety, given the condition of the bridge. <br />REVEGETATION Rule 4.15Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />Tamerisk on site were cut down in April, by a third party contractor.
